“Few books make me so angry that I must resist throwing them across the floor.” One such book is Winners Take All: the Elite Charade of Changing the World, by Anand Giridharadas. It shines a harsh light on the subtle, insidious ways that the ultrarich individuals and institutions inhabiting what he calls “MarketWorld” are applauded for solving problems that they in many cases have created.
How does his book relate to community development finance–the CDFI field that I, and many of you, have worked in or supported for decades? Please see the article I recently wrote for Shelterforce Weekly (February 14, 2020). Do you disagree? I’d be pleased to hear back from you.
