Clifford Rosenthal and Michael McCray are pleased to announce the publication of our new book, Community Capital: Race, Equity, and the Credit Union Movement. The book reached #1 on Amazon’s list of new releases on race and sociology.
The book is a candid, sometimes raw memoir of Rosenthal’s 30 years leading the organization now known as Inclusiv, combined with Michael McCray’s insider account of the unjust federal termination of his Black fraternity’s credit union, Kappa Alpha Psi FCU in 2010.
Rosenthal is the author of the seminal history, Democratizing Finance: Origins of the Community Development Financial Institutions Movement (FriesenPress, 2018). Inducted into the African-American Credit Union Hall of Fame in 2019, he will be honored in October 2024 by induction into the Cooperative Hall of Fame. McCray is a nationally known public interest and civil rights activist, the author of the breakthrough book Race, Power & Politics: Memoirs of an ACORN Whistleblower.
