In Elayne’s Own Words

May 5, 2024 by Cliff Leave a Comment

In September 2021, Elayne Archer was interviewed by Judy Waxman for the VFA Pioneers History Project of the Vetern Feminists of America.  You can find the full text of the interview by visiting the VFA’s site, https://veteranfeministsofamerica.org/interview-elayne-archer/

The site includes interviews with and articles about dozens of feminists, some of whom are world-famous, others who without acclaim fought and worked for gender equality in this country and internationally. Elayne recalls her early days with HealthRight, for reproductive freedom and the right to abortion, and more–a struggle that she regretfully had to resume as the assault on women’s reached new heights in recent years: after Trump was elected, “a group of us got together and formed this group called Older Women Remember And Speak Out.”
